Why Federal Agencies are Choosing Alternative IT Maintenance

Network downtime is not only stressful and expensive, but it also interrupts user productivity.  IT maintenance services are designed to prevent or correct system, network and server failures. Companies should employ IT maintenance solutions for maintaining desktops, laptops, servers and network components to ensure the smooth and optimal operation of the IT facility within an organization.

IT maintenance services are usually offered through the companies that provide the equipment you own. However, support services through original equipment manufacturers (OEM) come with high costs, inflexible contracts and short life spans.

While the fact that many alternative vendors are much, much less expensive than OEMs isn't lost on most companies, alternative vendors also provide a variety of other points that make them worth considering over the current leader, including their versatility, response times and overall value.

People may choose to not opt for OEM support services for many reasons. Their price may be too expensive, there may not be cumbersome support, or not speaking to technician fast enough, there may be a language barrier due to Cisco’s (News - Alert) outsourced Tier 1 support outside of the U.S. or there is a lack of flexibility for monthly billing and adding or deleting items within the contract.

Federal agencies have written internal whitepapers endorsing third party maintenance in order to cut costs. To learn what these agencies know and to learn more about how third party maintenance works, XS International, a provider of alternative IT maintenance solutions, is hosting a webinar on Wednesday, September 26 at 2:00 p.m. ET.

Attendees of the webinar will learn five key points of alternative IT maintenance, why federal agencies are turning to these alternative solutions and how alternative IT maintenance will enhance your budget. IT managers, CIOs and network operators should be particularly interested in this webinar.
